The Redwood Falls City Council will be holding a public hearing on a proposed “Social Host” ordinance this week. The new ordinance for the city would prohibit a person from hosting an event or gathering where alcohol is being consumed by persons under 21 years of age. It would also establish penalties for those hosting such an event. The public hearing to discuss the Redwood Falls Social Host Ordinance has been set for 5:15pm on Tuesday. Statewide there are 69 cities and 16 counties with Social Host ordinances, including several in the local area.
