A pizza delivery guy in Mankato is facing felony charges after leading police on a high-speed car chase through a residential neighborhood. 27-year-old Ryan Patrick Sorensen was delivering pizzas Friday night, but was allegedly going around 75 miles-per-hour and weaving through traffic on Highway 22 when a Blue Earth county Sheriff’s deputy spotted him and a chase began. Sorensen reportedly tried to escape the deputy by turning into a Mankato mobile home park, and the chase continued past several pedestrians, including children, at an estimated 50mph. When Sorensen did eventually stop, he told the deputy he was trying to make a delivery. He was taken into custody, and the pizza taken as evidence. Sorensen made his first court appearance on Tuesday on charges of fleeing police in a motor vehicle and reckless driving. He was released on his own recognizance after the hearing.
