A former New Ulm man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and 20 years of supervised probation for breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her. 28-year-old Aaron J. Manko, currently of St. Peter, was charged with 2 counts of 1st-degree burglary, 4th and 5th-degree criminal sexual conduct and trespassing in Brown County Court for the incident, which took place on the 600 Block of South Jefferson Street in New Ulm last August. The woman reportedly awoke to Manko sexually assaulting her and he fled. He was found about 4 hours later and taken into custody. On Monday he was convicted of 4th-degree burglary and criminal sexual conduct. He was also fined over $2,100, and will be required to complete a sex offender treatment program.
