The New Ulm City Council today (TUE) will reconsider granting a tobacco license that was denied during the last council meeting. Councilor Les Scultz led the way in denying the new “Smokes 4 Less” store in New Ulm a tobacco license because it sells forms of “herbal incense” known by names such as “Spice.” The owners of the Smokes 4 Less store have reportedly agreed to stop carrying the synthetic marijuana, leading to the council deciding to reconsider the issuance of a tobacco license. In other business this evening, the New Ulm City Council will consider options for repairing the inlaid bricks on sidewalks downtown, along with the concrete paver crosswalks. Councilors will also hear an update on Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities activities. The meeting starts at 5pm today at New Ulm City Hall.
