Morrow’s Opponent Drops Out 08 Jun 12

It looks like State Representative Terry Morrow of St. Peter will be running unopposed in the election this year after his Republican opponent withdrew from the race on Thursday. Nikolas Boyce of rural New Ulm had filed to run against the three-term incumbent on Tuesday, but reconsidered his decision just prior to Thursday’s deadline for candidates to take their name off the ballot. Boyce is declining to comment on why he dropped out of the race, citing “personal reasons.” A source close to his campaign said that Boyce wanted to focus on pursuing a career and felt he couldn’t give the campaign the time it deserved. Boyce’s decision means that voters in District 19A, which includes all of Nicollet County as well as Kasota and parts of Mankato, will have 2 races with no Republican alternative since State Senator Kathy Sheran of Mankato is also running unopposed.
