Mankato House Fire 13 Jun 12

The tenants of a home in Mankato were able to escape safely Tuesday morning after a fire broke out. Firefighters responded to the structure fire on the 400 block of North Second Street in Mankato at around 4:20am and discovered that an entryway to an attached three-season porch was on fire. The tenants made it out of the home without any injuries and the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing it from spreading into the rest of the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and damages are being estimated at around $5,000.
