A Nicollet woman has been accused of stealing dozens of morphine pills from a former hospice patient in Mankato. Felony drug charges were filed against 32-year-old Jennifer Laura Plooster on Friday in Blue Earth County Court. The theft of the morphine was first reported in September, but the investigation was delayed because Plooster checked herself into a treatment facility for opiate addiction shortly after the allegations came to light. Her nursing license was suspended by the Minnesota Board of Nursing in February. Plooster had allegedly visited a former patient at the Good Samaritan Home in Mankato around 4 times, and on one of those occasions the man noticed that around 80 pills were missing. Plooster initially denied taking the pills, but reportedly confessed to the crimes when she appeared before the Minnesota Board of Nursing in December. Her first court appearance is set for July 19th.
