Hog Theft Sentencing 21 Jun 12

A Minnesota man has been given a suspended 10-year prison sentence for stealing hundreds of hogs in both southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. 44-year-old John Arndt of Hayfield was accused of stealing hundreds of feeder pigs from feedlots in both states over a nearly 1-year long period and then selling them at livestock auctions. He was also ordered to pay nearly $55,000 in restitution on the felony theft charge, and was placed on probation for three years. The case against another man charged in the thefts, Greg Swenson of Rose Creek, is pending.
