A house explosion in southern Minnesota has severely injured a 75-year-old man. The explosion occurred Friday afternoon about a mile north of Freeborn, and Ralph William Yotter was flown to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with burns to his face and body. His current condition is unknown. Yotter’s wife, Patricia, was apparently uninjured. The explosion happened at around 1:15 pm, and firefighters had the fire reduced to a smolder a little over an hour later. The house is a total loss. The state fire marshal’s office has joined the investigation in to what caused the explosion. The Yotters were reportedly not living on the property at the time.
