The new Fairfax Public Library is nearing completion, with crews installing a new sign on the north side of the building late last week. Inside the building, which is being constructed at the site of the former Weir Hotel in Fairfax, carpet has been laid and bathroom floors were being installed this week. A sign on the west end of the building is expected to be hung later this week as well. The around $500,000 facility is expected to be completed early this summer, shortly after the Fairfax Summer Celebration later this month. The current Fairfax Library is expected to close June 14th so that shelves can be moved to the new facility.
