Drunk Driving Crackdown 30 Jun 12

Law enforcement agencies from throughout the Midwest are bracing for the deadliest holiday of the year due to impaired driving crashes by increasing enforcement on our roads. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over crackdown on impaired drivers is underway, and runs through July 6th. A total of 392 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes in the US during the 2010 July 4th holiday, and officials say there was a dramatic increase in crashes involving intoxicated drivers. Officials say that’s why law enforcement throughout the Midwest and around the nation will be out in full force, cracking down on drunk drivers during the Fourth of July holiday period with an aggressive Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement blitz.
