The American Red Cross is holding several blood drives around the local area this week in conjunction with “World Blood Donor Day.” The Bloodmobile will be at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center’s Tomlinson Hall until 1pm today (FRI), as well as at the Truman Community Center and Our Savior’s Lutheran in Bird Island, both from 1 to 7pm. On Tuesday donors can Give The Gift Of Life at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson from Noon to 6 and Salem Lutheran in Madelia from 1:30 to 6:30. On Wednesday there’s a blood drive at the Buffalo Lake Community Center from 1 to 7, and the Fairmont Holiday Inn is hosting blood drives from Noon to 6 on Tuesday, 1 to 7 on Wednesday, and 9 to 2 on Thursday. Thursday is World Blood Donor Day, celebrating those who donate blood and help save lives without expecting anything in return. Other blood drives on Thursday include at the Cedar Mountain School in Franklin from 1 to 7 and at St. Ann’s in Janesville from 2 to 7. On Friday there’s a blood drive at the Danube Community Center from 8am to 1pm as well.
