Twins/Tigers Tonight 25 May 12

The Minnesota Twins open a six-game homestand tonight with a holiday weekend three-game series against division rival Detroit at Target Field. The Twins have lost two straight after winning five of their previous six, while the Tigers have lost three in a row and have dipped four-games under .500. Detroit has had a shockingly disappointing season so far after being tabbed the preseason favorite to not only win the American League Central Division, but also the World Series. The Tigers made a splash with the signing of free agent Prince Fielder in the offseason, but they haven’t been able to put it all together. Anthony Swarzak is set to start for the Twins tonight, while Drew Smyly gets the nod for Detroit. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm. Coverage begins at 6;40pm on 860 AM KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
