Twins Win 23 May 12

(Chicago, IL) — Justin Morneau [[ MORE-noh ]] clubbed a three-run homer to back a complete-game gem by P.J. Walters as the Twins crushed the White Sox, 9-2. Walters struck out eight and gave up just two runs on five hits to improve to 2-and-1 on the season. Josh Willingham and Alexi Casilla plated two runs apiece for Minnesota, which has won five of its last six games. Gordon Beckham popped a solo home run and Paul Konerko knocked in Chicago’s other run in a losing effort. Gavin Floyd was rocked for all nine runs in three-and-two-third innings of duty to suffer the loss. The Southsiders had won their last four games.
