Ervin Santana tossed seven-and-a-third innings of two-run ball as the Angels hammered the Twins, 6-2. Carl Pavano suffered the loss after giving up five total runs in four-plus innings. Josh Willingham lifted a solo home run for Minnesota, which has lost seven of its last nine.

Twins Make Moves
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins sent struggling third baseman Danny Valencia to Triple-A Rochester after last night’s loss to the Angels. In addition, Francisco Liriano lost his spot in the rotation and was sent to the bullpen. Matt Maloney was designated for assignment. The Twins will bring up right-hander P.J. Walters to start Saturday. They also selected the contract of outfielder Darin Mastroianni.
