Springfield Theft Sentence 10 May 12

A 44-year-old Springfield woman accused of stealing over $100,000 from her place of employment has been sentenced to 60 days in jail and 10 years of supervised probation. Lisa A. Scholten was convicted of 2 counts of felony theft in Brown County Court this week, and 10 additional charges were dismissed. Scholten had been employed as an accountant at VJ Inspections Plus in Springfield since October of 2005, and a preliminary audit of the firms records showed that Scholten had misappropriated more than $100,000 in company funds since that time. She has also been fined over $6,000 for the crime, and was ordered to pay restitution by making a $300 minimum payment each month.
