Spring Flooding Arrives 30 May 12

The Spring flood season has arrived a little late across Minnesota, with recent rains causing flooding from the Arrowhead on down to Iowa. Extension Specialist Dave Nicolai says that farm fields are getting the worst of the wet weather, especially where Buffalo Creek empties into the Crow River, causing it to spill over it’s banks. A Flood Warning is in effect for the South Fork Of the Crow River, affecting Carver County near the City of Mayer. The Cottonwood River in New Ulm remains under a Flood Warning as well, along with several other rivers around Minnesota.
