Seat Belt Enforcement 21 May 12

Law enforcement agencies across the state begin a “Click It Or Ticket” campaign today (MON). Officers will be working overtime in an effort to get motorists to comply with the state’s primary seat belt law. More than 400 unbelted motorists have died in traffic crashes in Minnesota over the last three years, 43% of the total number of deaths on state roads. Authorities say those who don’t comply with seat belt laws face a variety of negative consequences, ranging from a ticket to being ejected from the vehicle. Child passenger safety is part of the Click It Or Ticket campaign as well. If you have questions about proper seat belt or booster seat use for your children, contact your local law enforcement agency.
