A deluge of rain in southwestern Minnesota in recent days has rivers around the area on the rise. Some areas have received upwards of a half-foot of rain since the start of the month, leading to an increased runoff into rivers. The Cottonwood River at New Ulm is expected to hit minor flood stage on Wednesday and crest by Friday. The Minnesota River at New Ulm is also expected to experience minor flooding starting Wednesday before dropping again on Friday. A flood warning for the Redwood River at Redwood Falls has been cancelled.
