The New Ulm District 88 School Board on Thursday approved increases to district activity passes. Superintendent Harold Remme says the costs of a Family Activity Pass will increase by $50, although it remains a good deal at $250. He says that the Family Pass does not apply to the Fall Musical due to increased costs for that performance, and any Music Booster activities. The cost of Senior citizen passes will increase by $20 as well. Remme says the fee increases are part of the ongoing budget-adjustment process for New Ulm schools, and are expected to bring in an additional $4,000 a year. In other business Thursday, the board discussed instituting a new meeting format, but took no action at this time. The new proposal calls for the first District 88 School Board meeting of every month to become a “study session,” with the second meeting of the month then being dedicated to action items.
