A Wabasso woman was charged with felony credit card fraud on Friday in Brown County Court. 48-year-old Pamela J. Holmes is accused of running a Discover Card “account takeover scheme” involving several accounts. The scam involves the criminal adding themselves to a victim’s credit card account and having an additional card sent to the perpetrator. Holmes allegedly used such compromised credit card accounts to make over $21,000 worth of transactions in New Ulm, including at Wal-Mart, Target, Bauer’s Do It Best Hardware, and United Prairie Bank. The victims of the scam were reportedly from Massachusetts and Arizona.
