The Minnesota State women’s golf team completed its season with a sixth-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Division II Central Regional Golf Tournament.
The Mavericks combined to shoot a 331 today and finished with a three-round total of 1010 at the Sierra Del Rio Country Club located in Elephant Butte, N.M.
Augustana claimed the regional tournament title with a 54-hole total of 966, Colorado Mesa was second at 967, Western New Mexico was third at 980, Southwest Minnesota State finished fourth at 999, Winona State was fifth with 1008 and was followed by Minnesota State’s 1010, CSU-Pueblo (1041) and Concordia-St. Paul (1041) tied for seventh and Adams State had 1058 to finish ninth.
Colorada Mesa’s Jennifer Hilts and Western New Mexico’s Faylyn Beyale finished tied for medalist honors in the individual standings with identical 232′s on the par 72, 5,925-yard lay-out at Sierra Del Rio.
Senior Samantha Bergmann, of New Ulm, shot 81 today and her 54-hole combined score of 248 placed her in a tie15th as the top MSU individual. Sophomore Alyssa Kalthoff carded an 84 today giving her 250, which placed her 19th. Senior Lisa Moline shot 81 and had a three-round total of 255 to tie for 24th, freshman Tabitha Kunst carded 85 today and her two-round total of 257 tied her for 27th. and junior Taylor Post had 89 and her 1271 total stands tied for 41st.
