Local Flood Warnings 07 May 12

The rain across southern Minnesota in recent days has led to a Flood Warning being issued for the Cottonwood River at New Ulm from late tonight (MON) through Thursday evening. Four to six inches of rain has reportedly fallen in some locations in the past 48 hours, leading to the forecast for minor flooding along both the Cottonwood at New Ulm and the Redwood River at Redwood Falls. The Cottonwood is expected to rise to around 11.5 feet in New Ulm by Tuesday evening after hitting the 11-foot flood stage mark Tuesday morning. Low-lying areas and roads in New Ulm and Redwood Falls may be impacted by floodwaters in the coming days.
