Legislature Passes Bonding Bill 08 May 12

The Minnesota House voted 99-32 on Monday in favor of this year’s Bonding Bill. The House bill is significantly smaller than the Governor’s $770-million proposal, which local Representative Paul Torkelson called “extravagant.” The Bonding Bill allocates long-term funding for public improvement projects, including MnScu and University of Minnesota facilities, flood mitigation projects, local road and bridge replacement work, and more. The Senate passed a nearly identical bill Monday night as well.
