House Passes Bill, Longwell Released 08 May 12

The Minnesota House of Representatives passed a public subsidy package for a new stadium for the Vikings last night. The measure passed by a vote of 73-58. The “Star Tribune” reports the stadium project could be voted on by the state’s Senate as soon as today. If all goes smoothly, the paper reports Governor Mark Dayton could sign the bill into law by the end of the week.

Vikings Release Kicker Longwell
(Eden Prarie, MN) — The Vikings have released veteran kicker Ryan Longwell. Longwell spent the last six seasons with the Vikings after a nine-year run with the Packers. The 37-year-old made 22-of-28 field goal attempts last season and is the Vikings’ third all-time leading scorer. He ranks first on the Packers’ all-time scoring list.
