Fishing Opener Weekend 10 May 12

The City of Waconia is reportedly all set to welcome the 2012 Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener. Governor Dayton plans to attend Friday’s community picnic in Waconia, then fish Lake Waconia at just after midnight Saturday before fishing again later Saturday morning. The 3,000-acre lake gets stocked with walleye every year, and they average about 19 inches and 2-and-a-half pounds.
