Negotiators for the Legislature, the governor, and the Vikings have hammered out the final compromise on a stadium bill, and the Senate is voting on the bill today (THU). This comes after both the House and Senate approved the bill in recent days. Senate Co-Sponsor Julie Rosen of Fairmont says that Governor Dayton deserves a lot of the credit. Vikings Vice President Lester Bagley says the team’s owners have decided to lock in the deal that calls for the team to contribute $477-million towards the new stadium, about $50-million more than was previously negotiated. Bagley says it’s the right thing to do for Minnesota. The Senate vote today is the last hurdle standing between the Vikings and the $975-million stadium that would be ready in time for the 2016 season.
