Final Approval Of Vikings Stadium 26 May 12

A new Vikings stadium was passed by the Minneapolis City Council on Friday on a 7-6 vote. Prior to the vote, council members debated the effects of a new stadium on taxes and jobs — while discussions centered on the topics of keeping the NFL in Minnesota to the cost of a stadium equaling “corporate welfare.” Passage of the plan is seen as the last hurdle for the $975-million stadium.
