Investigators have determined that excessive speed was the cause of a fatal crash near Alexandria in February that killed 4 Minnesotans. The State Patrol’s Sergeant Jesse Grabow says that 18-year old Lauren Peterson of Prior Lake was driving 78-miles-an-hour when she lost control on Interstate-94, crossed the median and smashed into an SUV. She and her passengers, 18-year olds Megan Sample of Rogers and Danielle Renninger of Excelsior and 19-year-old Jordan Playle of Elk River were all killed in the crash. All 4 were students at North Dakota State University.
