Benefits For MN Soldiers Bill 15 May 12

The US House will vote on a bill today (TUE) that would restore full military benefits to members of the Minnesota National Guard. Congressman John Kline’s legislation must receive two-thirds support to pass but is expected to receive bi-partisan support. Kline says he looks forward to his bill becoming law so our heroic Minnesota troops receive the benefits they were promised and earned. The Pentagon made a change to a post deployment benefit program last year after more than 2,000 Minnesota soldiers were sent to Iraq and Kuwait. Some of the Red Bulls would have lost more than 27 days of leave under the policy.
