(Minneapolis, MN) — Justin Morneau [[ MORE-noh ]] hit a go-ahead, two-run homer to spark a four-run eighth inning and the Twins held on to beat the Angels, 10-9. Joe Mauer [[ MOW-er ]] hit a three-run shot and Josh Willingham a solo blast as Minnesota overcame a 6-0 deficit.
Denard Span went 4-for-5 to lead a 20-hit Twins attack. Jeff Gray got the win. Matt Capps gave up two runs in the ninth, but held on for his second save. The Twins begin a three-game home series with the Rangers at 7:10 this evening.
American Lung Association On Tobacco At Twins Ballpark
(Minneapolis, MN) — The American Lung Association is applauding the Twins for making Target Field a completely smoke-free stadium. Minnesota chapter spokesman Bob Moffitt says they plan to recognize the Twins with a special award. The Twins shut down the only smoking area outside Gate 6 this season.
