The state Department of Human Services is investigating the death of a patient at the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter.
Officials confirm that a 59-year-old man died at the facility on Sunday. The unidentified man is the second patient to die there in the past few weeks.
No information has been released about the causes of death and officials cannot discuss the cases because of medical privacy laws. The medical examiner’s report will not be available for several weeks.
The St. Peter facility treats adults who have been found mentally ill and dangerous by the courts.
