A Jordan man was involved in a 5-hour standoff with police Friday night after an altercation at a bar. Authorities say that 24-year-old Jacob Strayer got into a fight at a bar on Eldarado Drive in Jordan, and when a bouncer confronted him Strayer allegedly pulled out a gun and fled the scene. Police tracked Strayer to a residence on Pinehurst Lane in Jordan, and the SWAT Team was called in after gunshots were heard coming from inside the home. Strayer reportedly fired a handgun and rifle at police officers during the 5-hour standoff, but police did not return fire. A negotiator was eventually able to talk Strayer into surrendering. He was treated for minor self-inflicted wounds before being taken to the Scott County Jail. He faces assault and other charges.
