The 28th annual Grackle Days festivities wrapped up on Sunday in the City of Winthrop with the crowning of new royalty. The new Miss Winthrop is Cassidy Sloot, the daughter of Harry and Kellie Sloot. Crowned Winthrop Princess and Miss Congeniality was Rebecca Klehr, the daughter of John and Kim Klehr. Grackle Days featured 4 days of food and fun as Winthrop celebrated the return of grackles to the area this spring. Committee Chair Brenda Meyer was happy with how the weekend turned out, and says that Grackle Days will definitely return to Winthrop in 2013.
