A St. Peter man faces federal charges of transporting and harboring illegal immigrants, and an affidavit unsealed this week alleges he provided workers to larger companies in Minnesota as well. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent alleges that 46-year-old Juan Arrazolo ran a poultry business that contracted with companies including Gold’n Plump, Michael Foods and Crystal Farms. A witness reportedly told authorities that Arrazolo had as many as two dozen workers, some of whom were in the US without legal permission. When one worker told Arrazolo he was undocumented, Arrazolo is said to have replied that “it was not a problem.” His attorney says the case is one of hard-working people suffering consequences for doing jobs that US citizens do not want.
