The Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board recently approved $640,000 worth of improvements to the district’s school buildings. The first project was awarded to JS Cates of Hamel with a low bid of $520,000 to replace windows and exterior doors at the junior high school as well as on the north side of Glencoe-Silver Lake High School. The second bid went to Basemen Floors of Appleton, Wisconsin, to install wooden floors at the 2 gyms at the Panther Field House in Glencoe. That low bid was just over $120,000. The floor project should get underway in early June and be completed by August 1st, and the windows and doors project will begin in June and be finished by September 1st.
