Gaylord Forgery Sentencing 27 Apr 12

A Gaylord contractor accused of forging documents and failing to pay a subcontractor has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and 3 years of probation. 71-year-old Karl Richard Kuphal had pleaded pleaded guilty to felony aggravated forgery in McLeod County Court. He admitted to forging 2 bank lien waivers by signing an electricians name, and then failing to pay the electrician the more-than $4,000 he was still owed for work on a home in Gaylord in 2009. Along with the jail and probation time Kuphal was also ordered to pay over $3,800 in restitution.
