A 32-year-old Hutchinson man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in federal court on Thursday for conspiracy to distribute drugs. Joshua Anthony Munoz had pleaded guilty to distributing over 50 grams of methamphetamine and up to 10 kilos of marijuana between 2009 and 2011. When he was arrested last April Munoz had approximately 221 grams of meth in his possession. Authorities say that Munoz has an extensive criminal history spanning more than a decade, and chose to align himself with a prominent Mexican-based drug-trafficking organization in order to elevate his stature in the criminal community.
