The Vikings were very busy on the first night of the NFL Draft. The Vikes originally had the third pick, but made a deal with the Browns and moved back a spot to four, where they took USC offensive lineman Matt Kalil [[ kuh-LEEL ]]. Minnesota later traded back into the first round to selected Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith. Rounds two and three are tonight.

Vikings Sign WR Simpson
(Eden Prairie, MN) — The Vikings have finalized a contract with wide receiver Jerome Simpson. Simpson spent the last four seasons with the Bengals. He had 50 receptions for 725 yards and four touchdowns last year. Earlier this month, a Kentucky judge sentenced the 26-year-old Simpson to 15 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of marijuana trafficking.
