A southern Minnesota woman who made a plea deal in an Iowa counterfeiting case has been given probation and a suspended sentence. 29-year-old Meranda O’Connor of Albert Lea had pleaded guilty to one count of forgery and 3 additional charges were dropped. Authorities say O’Connor bleached the ink off $5 bills and then printed over the bills with larger denominations. She was sentenced to five years in prison, which was suspended, and two years of probation. A $750 fine was also suspended.
