Child Porn SentencingA 62-year-old Mankato man accused of showing sexually explicit videos to minors in his home last April was sentenced on Tuesday in Blue Earth County Court. Rodney Oberg was sentenced to 30 months in prison for possession and distribution of child pornography, but the sentence was stayed with the conditions that Oberg submit to random searches and polygraph exams, have no contact with the victims or witnesses, and have no unsupervised use of the internet. He must also register as a predatory sex offender and pay a $1,500 fine. Oberg and his roommate, 51-year-old Jeremy Wolfe were arrested at the Eastwood Manor trailer park in Mankato this past April after several parents reported that the 2 had shown their children pornography. Wolfe was sentenced to time served in July, and ordered to serve an additional 28 days in jail. A 25-month prison term was stayed. Oberg had also been charged with having sexual contact with minors, but those charges were dismissed.
