Vikings Receive Two Compensatory Picks
(New York, NY) — The Vikings were awarded two compensatory picks for this year’s NFL Draft yesterday. The Vikes received the picks after losing Sidney Rice and Ray Edwards in free agency last year. The Vikings now have 10 picks in this year’s draft.
Vikings Ink Schwartz
(Eden Prairie, MN) — The Vikings officially signed offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz yesterday. Schwartz missed all of last season with a hip injury. He appeared in 32 games with the Carolina Panthers from 2009-10.
Rays Rip Twins
(Fort Myers, FL) — The Twins suffered a 10-4 loss to the Rays in Grapefruit League play yesterday. Ryan Doumit [[ DOE-mitt ]] homered and plated a pair of runs for the Twins. Scott Baker was lit up for seven runs in only two-and-two-thirds innings. The Twins face the O’s today.
Wolves Visit Grizzlies
(Memphis, TN) — The Timberwolves are in Memphis to face the Grizzlies tonight. Minnesota stopped a two-game losing streak with a 117-100 win over the Nuggets on Sunday. The Wolves also moved to 24-and-26 on the season with the victory. Tip-off tonight is at 7:00.
Gophers Face Washington
(New York, NY) — Minnesota will square off with Washington in the semifinals of the NIT in New York tonight. The Gophers are appearing in the Final Four of the NIT for the fifth time in school history. The Gophers have won the NIT title on two previous occassions. Tip-off tonight is at 8:00.
Rangers In Town To Face Wild
(St. Paul, MN) — The Wild will host the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers at The X this evening. Minnesota suffered a 3-0 road loss to the Capitals its last time out on Sunday. The Wild have lost two straight and five-of-seven overall. The puck drops at 7:00.
