Wolves Nip Warriors
(Oakland, CA) — Kevin Love poured in 36 points and pulled down 17 rebounds as the Timberwolves edged the Warriors, 97-93. Luke Ridnour had 11 points and 10 assists to help Minnesota stop its three-game losing streak. Anthony Tolliver dropped in 10 points off the bench for the victors. The Wolves continue a seven-game road trip tomorrow evening at San Antonio.
Harding, Wild Blank Canucks
(St. Paul, MN) — Josh Harding stopped 33 shots for his second shutout of the year as the Wild blanked Vancouver, 2-0. Erik Christensen and Kyle Brodziak lit the lamp for Minnesota, which had lost eight-of-nine entering the contest. The Wild wrap up a five-game homestand on Thursday against the Calgary Flames.
Twins Double Up Red Sox
(Fort Myers, FL) — Joe Benson drove in three runs as Minnesota took an 8-4 decision over Boston in Grapefruit League action on Monday afternoon. Josh Willingham posted two RBI, while Matt Carson knocked in one and scored once for the Twins. Jason Marquis [[ mar-KEY ]] allowed three runs on five hits in four innings. Jared Burton picked up the win with a scoreless fifth inning in relief for Minnesota. The Twins are off today. They continue spring play tomorrow afternoon against the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland.
Gophers Bash Hurricanes In NIT
(Coral Gables, FL) — Minnesota got 21 points from Rodney Williams in a 78-60 win over Miami in the second round of the NIT. Andre Hollins and Joe Coleman scored 14 points each for the Golden Gophers. Julian Welch added 13 off the bench for Minnesota, which will face Middle Tennessee State in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
