Jazz Top T’Wolves In OT
(Salt Lake City, UT) — Gordon Hayward scored 26 points and the Utah Jazz topped the Minnesota Timberwolves, 111-105, in overtime on Thursday evening in Salt Lake City. Kevin Love had a game-high 25 points and 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have dropped three of their last four. Nikola Pekovic added 20 points and nine boards, while Luke Ridnour had 18 points and 13 assists in a losing effort. Minnesota is right back on the court this evening to square off against the Lakers in Los Angeles and wraps up a seven-game road swing tomorrow at Sacramento.

Wild On The Ice Tomorrow
(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild are back on the ice tomorrow evening as they continue a five-game homestand against the Carolina Hurricanes at The X. The Wild suffered a 1-0 setback to Dallas on Tuesday. They have dropped seven of their last eight games to fall to 29-31-and-10 on the season.

Twins Hammered By Pirates
(Fort Myers, FL) — Garrett Jones hit a two-run home run among his three hits and drove in four as Pittsburgh used a 10-run first-inning to clobber Minnesota, 17-6, in Grapefruit League play on Thursday afternoon. Joe Mauer drove in two runs and Denard Span added an RBI and two runs scored for the Twins. Starter Terry Doyle didn’t make it out of the first innings as he was lit up for eight runs on seven hits with a walk. The Twins play a split squad schedule today. They host Baltimore in Fort Myers during the afternoon and play at Boston in the evening.

Gophers Continue NIT Action Monday
(Coral Gables, FL) — The Minnesota Golden Gophers are off this weekend. They continue NIT action on Monday against the Miami Hurricanes in the second round from Coral Gables. The Gophers beat La Salle, 70-61, on Wednesday in opening round action. The victory marked the 100th career win for head coach Tubby Smith with Minnesota.
