Boy Scouts in New Ulm and other communities will be going door-to-door Saturday morning to collect donations for local food shelves. The New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf’s Don Brand says that donations are especially important during the Month of March because it is Minnesota Food Share Month. Matching grants for food donations are provided, along with grants from the Feinstein Foundation. New Ulm residents are asked to leave their non-perishable food donations near their front door in the specially-provided bag by 8:30 Saturday morning. No glass containers please. More than 50 volunteers will be on hand at the food shelf building on South Valley Street in New Ulm Saturday morning to help unload and organize the donations.
