A Sleepy Eye man has been sentenced to 30 years of probation for selling liquid morphine. 24-year-old Jacob L. Neid was originally ordered to serve 86 months in prison after being convicted of a 1st-degree controlled substance crime in Brown County Court, but that sentence was stayed for the length of his probation. Neid was arrested after selling $200 worth of liquid morphine to a drug task force confidential informant. The informant bought 2 small mouthwash containers of the drug from Neid after being fitted with an electronic listening device. Neid was also fined over $1,100 for the crime and was ordered to attend Brown County Drug Court.
