A Savage police officer critically injured in a car accident in early January is out of the hospital and recovering at home. 39-year-old Frank Mackall was on his way to assist with a call when he lost control of his squad car on a patch of ice and the vehicle hit a tree. He suffered multiple injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, and had to be extricated from his squad car. Mackall was released from North Memorial Medical Center on Tuesday — 84 days after the accident. His wife Lisabeth says he has made tremendous progress in the last few months, and thanked everyone for their continued prayers and support.
