High Winds & Thunderstorms 27 Mar 12

Minnesotans were seeing flashes of lightning this (TUE) morning as warm air took over across most of the state. High winds have been topping 40mph in many spots from the Iowa border all the way up to the red River Valley, with the strongest gust so far being recorded west of Morris at 51mph. Wind advisories remain in effect all day over much of the state, and the fire danger remains high. Thunderstorms may be possible as well, and highs this afternoon could reach 70-degrees in parts of southern Minnesota.
