Wolves Outgun Suns
(Phoenix, AZ) — Kevin Love poured in 30 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Timberwolves took down the Suns, 127-124. Nikola Pekovic added 24 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves, who put the brakes on a two-game skid. Derrick Williams finished with 19 points and eight boards in the win. The Wolves continue a seven-game road trip on Thursday at Utah.
Wild Continue Homestand
(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild continue a five-game homestand this evening against the Dallas Stars at The X. The Wild have dropped six of their last seven games to fall to 29-30-and-10 on the season. They suffered a 4-3 setback to Calgary on Sunday. Minnesota wraps up this week’s play on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Twins Rip Rays In 10 Innings
(Port Charlotte, FL) — Luke Hughes ripped a solo home run in the top of the 10th inning, sending the Minnesota Twins to a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Grapefruit League action on Monday afternoon. Hughes finished with two hits and scored both runs for the Twins, while Brian Dozier had a pair of hits. Carl Pavano started for Minnesota and gave up one run on four hits over four frames while fanning three. The Twins return to Fort Myers to host the Toronto Blue Jays this afternoon.
Gophers In Action Tomorrow
(Philadelphia, PA) — The Minnesota Golden Gophers start the National Invitational Tournament tomorrow evening in Philadelphia. The sixth-seeded Gophers square off against three-seed La Salle at Tom Gola Arena. Minnesota lost to Michigan in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday.
