Forecasters have updated the snowy forecast over southern Minnesota today (THU). In the past few hours, the National Weather Service has watched the incoming February clipper move on a more southerly track. Meteorologist Steve Woolenhouse says that instead of up to eight-inches across much of the local area, accumulations are now expected to max out at around three inches in southwestern Minnesota while only an inch or so is expected to fall in south-central counties. The bulk of the storm could dump up to nine-inches over areas north of Des Moines.
